In most stores, you can always find some kind of deal going on for cereals. Never, and I repeat, never pay full price for a box of cereal! Wait your time and cereals always go on sale. At my local store, every couple weeks, one of the cereal makers complete lines goes on sale for a few days, and they are usually 50% off or buy one get one free! One week it will be General Mills, a couple weeks later it will be Kelloggs, etc.
The great thing about cereal is it has a very long shelf life, so when you see those sales, get them while you can. I go through a couple boxes a week of cereal at least ( Hey, I like my cereal. I usually eat a healthy kind, like Special K, in the morning, then sometimes at night, I will have a sugary one for dessert).
This latest sale was 50% off, and at $4 a box, it was time to rack up some serious savings. I picked up 12 boxes, I probably should have picked up more, but I have limited storage space right now, and I am confident there will be more sales in the future.
At an average of 2 boxes a week (and if you have 3 or 4 kids I know you can easily double that) at $4 a box, only buying 50% or buy 1 get one free cereals, gives me a savings of $208 for the year. Not to bad for one product!
